User experience
While studying UX Design at Mission Ready, I had the opportunity to take on two major projects where we applied core UX principles from start to finish. As a team, we identified pain points, conducted research and discovery work, defined clear problem statements, and developed wireframes that were refined into high-fidelity designs after usability testing. We also created comprehensive UI kits that aligned with brand guidelines. Throughout these projects, we followed an agile mindset, participating in daily stand-up meetings to ensure collaboration and adaptability. This hands-on approach helped me gain valuable experience in the full UX design process, from problem framing to delivering user-centered solutions.
Trademe
As part of my UX design studies at Mission Ready, we focused on redesigning Trademe’s website, addressing pain points identified from a user persona who was overwhelmed by the bidding process and cluttered product pages. The user found it difficult to compare items due to excessive information, which led to confusion and accidental bids. The persona’s goal was to quickly and easily navigate online marketplaces without errors and stay within her student budget.
Our solution was to redesign the product listing pages and simplify the bidding process, making it more intuitive. Additionally, we introduced a new comparison feature, allowing users to evaluate similar products at a glance, making it easier for users to make informed decisions while reducing confusion.
High Fidelity Design
Turners
Our team focused on addressing a common user pain point: navigating the overwhelming amount of information while trying to find and purchase motor vehicle insurance. Using the problem statement: “As a car insurance customer, I need to access comprehensive insurance information and make a purchase easily from home, because I like to be prepared before making an agreement while saving time,” we redesigned the website to streamline the flow of information, ensuring that users could find the relevant details quickly and with minimal confusion. This solution made the process of finding and purchasing insurance much more user-friendly and accessible on mobile devices. We used wireframes, testing, and hi-fi designs to create a seamless and efficient user experience.
